Like most kids, my son loves playing online games. This one is something about clashing clans. He comes by this attraction naturally. In college, I was pretty nearly addicted to Ms. Paccman (just ask my college roommate .
So even though games — online, video, phone — aren’t a negative in and of themselves, they can be if they start consuming big chunks of time and creativity. So what’s a mom to do?
Go old school. Lead afore mentioned boy, and friend, to the Hot Wheels track and let the racing begin.
Once they get into it, computer screens, clans, and clashes are left in the dust of a 99 cent Hot Wheel. (Take that, clan!)
So rev up your Hot Wheels, dig out that baseball glove, or unfold the board games tucked way in the back of your closet. They’ll get your kids away from the computer screen… at least for a little while. Oh, that means
you’ll I’ll have to put away my screen too.
